Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a specialized care nursery located in south central Kentucky. This role involves caring for neonates, including full-term, early-term, and pre-term infants, within a state-of-the-art facility that offers advanced neonatal services. The RN will provide patient care in a Level 2 Special Care Nursery, ensuring safety and developmental support for neonatal patients.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shift with 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid certifications including Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), STABLE, Basic Life Support (BLS); 2 years of experience in a Level 2 Nursery or higher NICU; must have at least 0 years of experience; location requirements include candidates being 60 miles or greater from the facility
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience attending all deliveries and ability to initiate and run NRP resuscitation; familiarity with diagnoses such as NAS/NOWS, transient tachypnea of the newborn (TTN), IV antibiotics, Bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), and orogastric/nasogastric feeding tubes
• Additional Information: The unit has 8 beds with patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3; the electronic health records system used is Meditech/GE Centricity; the unit is led by supervisor Elizabeth Garland. The nursing staff is expected to maintain professionalism in hospital-issued royal blue scrubs and adhere to dress code standards.
