Description
Job Summary:
Lactation and Delivery Nurse in a Labor and Delivery Department located in a healthcare facility serving the region of the Four Corners. This position involves providing specialized maternity care, including assisting with childbirth and supporting new mothers, within a diverse and busy obstetric unit. The role is crucial for ensuring patient safety and comfort in the hospitals maternity services.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ADN degree, BLS (American Heart Association) certification, minimum of 0 years of experience in labor and delivery or related obstetric nursing, minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse experience preferred; additional skills in oncology helpful but not required
- Additional Information: The role involves working with a diverse patient population, including women in labor and postpartum, with patient ratios approximately 1:5 or 1:6. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment providing maternity and obstetric care. Equipment commonly used includes VS machines, bladder scanners, IV pumps, thermal imaging, lifts, and tube feeding pumps. The electronic health record system utilized is Cerner. The assignment is scheduled to start on 09/08/2026 and end on 12/08/2026.
