Job Summary:
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available at a healthcare facility in Wausau, WI. This contract role is designed for experienced nurses who are proficient in post-anesthesia care, including cardiac and pediatric patient management. The position offers a dynamic work environment, with shifts that include variable start times and rotation between different responsibilities.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Variable 4x10-hour shifts with start times of 0730, 0800, and 0900, totaling 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: WI RN License, AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications; at least 2+ years of recent hospital PACU experience; post-cardiac and pediatric experience preferred; strong electronic charting experience (Epic preferred).
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Float: Float rotation may be required during low census periods; traveler may be put on call during unbillable hours and must respond within 30 minutes if called back.
• Additional Information: The unit has 14 bays with a 1:2 patient ratio, handling general, spine, neuro, GI, ENT, cardiac, PV, orthopedic cases, and ICU patient stabilization. The position involves working with various patient types, including postoperative and ICU transfers. Protocols require compliance with hospital policies, including vaccination mandates during flu season.
