Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse position in a healthcare facility located in Bozeman. The role involves providing comprehensive care to obstetric patients, acting as a charge nurse when needed, and floating to other departments as a safety companion. Experience in antepartum, intrapartum, preoperative, circulating, or post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) in maternal health is preferred.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse); American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); STABLE certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificationrecertification required every 2 years; competence and a willingness to practice modified primary nursing.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in labor and delivery, antepartum, intrapartum, preoperative, circulating, or PACU settings.
- Additional Information:
- Must be able to catch/transition nurse and act as Charge Nurse.
- Willingness to float to other departments as a safety companion.
- In addition to core nurse responsibilities, employees must complete all required education on time, including DNV standards and Bozeman Health policy.
- Responsibilities include collecting comprehensive patient data, analyzing assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and promoting a safe environment.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work in a busy, stressful environment with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Participation in cerebrovascular care education required within specified timeframes.
- Physical requirements include prolonged standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with continuous visual and cognitive activity.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and infectious diseases in the clinical setting.
- The facility reserves the right to cancel three (3) shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances.
- Must reside at least 90 miles away from the facility.
