Job Summary

Cardiac Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurses are needed for a 13-week assignment on the nights shift in a healthcare facility located in the South St. Louis County area. The position involves providing specialized patient care for individuals with complex cardiac and medical conditions, utilizing advanced nursing skills within a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

  • Shift: Nights, 1900-0730 (12 hours per shift)
  • Schedule: Night shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with potential for up to 48 hours
  • Location: in a healthcare facility serving diverse patient populations from the surrounding counties
  • Required Qualifications: Current RN License (eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri or licensed in Missouri), BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association, please note the candidate must have 3 years of experience in Cardiac Medical ICU or similar specialty with CVI experience of recovering open hearts directly from the operating room, and a minimum of 0 years of experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with medical ICU patients with a cardiac emphasis, including arrhythmias, STEMI, and post-arrest cases
  • Additional Information: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care, maintaining professional accountability and evaluating care effectiveness. The role includes monitoring patient conditions post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities, with a focus on quality and safety standards. Float to other stepdown units may be required based on staffing needs. The unit contains advanced equipment such as Impella, IABP, Prismax CRRT, Zoll internal cooling device, Arctic Sun, and uses the EPIC electronic medical record system.
