Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Department position in a healthcare facility. This role involves managing high-acuity obstetric patients, supporting clinical operations during night shifts, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the safety and well-being of mothers and babies. The position requires a thorough understanding of labor management, fetal monitoring, and OB emergency protocols.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week, with schedule cycle made in 6-week increments, released 2 weeks prior.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN). Candidates should have high acuity experience in labor management and delivery of high-risk OB patients, ability to triage OB patients, circulate in OR, perform cervical checks, and interpret fetal monitoring strips. EPIC experience is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience functioning as a Charge Nurse, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to manage staff conflicts. Prior experience with antepartum, postpartum, C-sections, and high-risk deliveries is preferred.
  • Additional Information: This role involves supporting a busy Labor and Delivery unit with up to 300 deliveries per month, inclusive of emergent and routine OB procedures. Orientation consists of a hospital and unit orientation, including 6 shifts paired with a Charge Nurse. No floating for the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM).
  • Other Notes: Scrub color provided by the facility; scrubs are not to be worn outside. Free parking and badge access are provided. No mandatory call requirements, but open shifts may be picked up as needed. Holiday rotations are fair and equitable, with no holidays required for the ANM.
