Job Summary:
ORT (Operating Room Technician) for a general surgical setting, responsible for maintaining sterile technique, assisting surgeons during procedures, and ensuring patient safety. The position involves active participation in the operating room team, preparing supplies, and supporting efficient case turnover. This role is ideal for a certified surgical technologist with a focus on sterile procedures and patient care in a dynamic surgical environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule may vary based on the needs of the unit.
• Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST); BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross); no minimum experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous operating room experience; prior surgical technologist experience.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Follows infection control policies and demonstrates expertise in surgical scrub technique. Assists in gowning, gloving, draping, instrument passing, and specimen handling. Maintains an organized operative field and ensures safety protocols are followed. Provides support in suturing, retracting, and suctioning under surgeon supervision. Assists with OR turnaround and performs call duty approximately every 5th-6th weekend from 11 PM Friday to 11 PM Sunday.
