Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position in a hospital setting located in Overland Park. This role involves providing specialized care to patients with moderate physiologic instability, requiring cardiac and respiratory monitoring and management. The position offers an opportunity to work with new equipment and technology on a unit dedicated to cardiac and pulmonary patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Current license as a Registered Nurse, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NIH (National Institutes of Health) Stroke Scale certification. No minimum years of experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a telemetry and pulmonary step-down unit caring for patients with moderate physiologic instability, familiarity with oxygen therapy including nasal cannula, BIPAP/CPAP, AirVo, and continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit cares for patients with conditions such as COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and tracheostomy patients. Responsibilities include administering oxygen therapy, vital signs monitoring every 4 hours, neurological assessments, and cardiac rhythm monitoring. The team utilizes Alaris pumps, kangaroo pumps, Pxysis infusion devices, and computers available in every room. The unit promotes patient courtesy, respect, and team collaboration.
