Description
Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a hospital setting. This role involves managing patients with stroke, cardiac drips, and those on continuous bipap therapy, among other procedures. The unit accommodates a mix of patient needs requiring acute but less intensive care than an intensive care unit, and offers a dynamic environment for professional growth.
Job Details:
- Shifts: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, at least 1 year of experience, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NIH (National Institutes of Health) certifications.
- Preferred Qualifications: Preceptor experience, charge nurse experience.
- Unit Information:
- Location: Medical City facility
- Floor: 2nd floor of the main hospital
- Bed Capacity: 25 beds
- Staffing: 54 full-time equivalents
- Staffing Model: Staffing comprises charge RNs, staff RNs, and PCTs during both day and night shifts
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 or 5:1
- Equipment: Bipap, restraints, airvo, bedside monitoring, seizure precautions, telemonitoring
- EMR System: Meditech
- Responsibilities: Managing stroke patients, cardiac drips, patients on bipap, following unit-specific policies and SOPs, and providing compassionate, team-oriented patient care.
