Description
Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position located in the healthcare facility. The role involves providing specialized patient care for adult and geriatric populations recovering from cardiac and vascular surgeries, with a focus on telemetry and post-op management. The RN will deliver comprehensive care in a fast-paced environment, adhering to unit protocols and safety standards.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid state license with a compact license in hand at submission; at least 2 years of experience in surgical telemetry, open heart surgery, vascular, and radial band management; NIHSS certification, ACLS, BLS; Epic electronic medical record experience; minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with VAD, TAVR, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement; knowledge of chest tubes, sternal precautions, and specialized cardiac supports.
- Float: Float rotation may be required, as the traveler must be flexible to cover similar units and meet unit needs.
- Additional Information: Candidate must have experience with blood product administration, cardioverter/defibrillation, epicardial pacer management, LVAD, open heart post-op care within 24-28 hours, and telemetry monitoring. Knowledge of sheaths, chest tube setup, and post-surgical precautions is essential. All procedures and responsibilities must be performed in accordance with the units standards and protocols.
