Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a Critical Access Hospital in West Union, IA. This role involves providing patient care on a 25-bed unit including Med/Surg and OB services, with a focus on utilizing clinical skills and independence. The position requires float capabilities between Medical-Surgical and Obstetrics departments, including high-risk labor and postpartum care, supporting a rural healthcare setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour days (5 a.m. to 5 p.m.) with a guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: IA Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), minimum of Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring certification, associate degree or certificate, 2+ years experience in specialty area; previous experience in Critical Access Hospital beneficial.
- Preferred Qualifications: Electronic Medical Record EPIC experience beneficial.
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required. The RN must be able to float between Medical-Surgical and Obstetrics departments, assisting in high- and low-risk labor, postpartum, and surgical settings.
- Additional Information: The RN will work independently and may serve as a charge nurse backup, with previous charge experience required. Candidate must be resilient, able to manage change effectively, and willing to assist and train less experienced staff. Scrubs are provided for Obstetrics; staff may choose scrubs for Medical-Surgical. Orientation includes 8 hours of unbillable time, with a requirement to begin clinical compliance within 48 hours of acceptance. Holiday rotation and possible call-back in emergency situations are included, with on-call duties optional based on agreement.
