Description

Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Nursing Professional Night Shift 09/14/2026 to 01/18/2027. This position involves providing specialized care for adult patients with various diagnoses, including cardiac, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, respiratory, stroke, post-procedure, and renal failure. The role requires a team-oriented approach, flexibility, and effective communication skills in a diverse cultural environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar setting, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), and competence in arterial line management
  • Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Patient Population: Adults with various diagnoses including cardiac, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, and renal failure
  • Patient Care Responsibilities: Titration of drips such as Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin; high-flow oxygen therapy management
  • Staffing: Charge nurse available on each shift; nurse aides/patient care technicians on unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5; RNs required to read and interpret telemetry strips; RNs must be able to troubleshoot equipment like vents, Cpap, BiPap, high flow, etc.
  • Floater Policy: Floating to MedSurg or ICU to match acuity
  • Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs
  • Orientation: One day of unit-specific orientation
  • Additional Requirements: Flexibility for RTO (up to 7 days upfront for the 13-week contract), hospital can cancel up to four shifts per assignment, experience with EPIC charting system, no BSN required, license to submit required, trauma level 2 care setting
