Description
Job Summary:
Emergency Room nursing professionals are sought for a facility located in an acute care setting. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care across a busy department with variable patient acuity, including traumas, strokes, STEMI, and other urgent conditions. The position offers an opportunity to work night shifts in a fast-paced environment requiring clinical expertise and adaptability.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with shifts generally spanning 7p to 7a.
- Required Qualifications: Valid state license to practice as a registered nurse, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), and a minimum of 2 years of emergency department experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
- Float: Float rotation may be required for inpatient help.
- Additional Information:
- The ER treats approximately 40-60 patients daily.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:3-4 during the day and may be lower during nighttime hours.
- Common diagnoses include trauma, STEMI, strokes, MVCs, and hunting-related injuries.
- ED physicians are available 24/7 in-house; mid-level providers are also present.
- The department features designated fast track and triage areas, with approximately two triage rooms.
- Security is managed through local police and internal code backup; no 24/7 security housed in the ER.
- In-house RT services include ABG, breathing treatments, and EKGs, available 24/7.
- X-ray and CT imaging are accessible within the department, with lab phlebotomy available around the clock.
- The department utilizes a computerized charting system and requires clinicians to clock in and out at the facility.
- Clinicians previously employed at the facility must have their end date at least 6 months prior to submission.
- Self-scheduling and flexible start times are permitted; weekend rotations are every other weekend, with holiday coverage approximately two out of three winter weeks.
- Scrub attire may be any solid color, clean, and professional.
- Orientation includes computer-based training, two days of department-specific policies, and floor training.
