Job Summary:
Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician in a healthcare environment. This role involves selecting and handling surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during operative procedures. The technician assists the surgical team by preparing instruments, anticipating surgeon needs, maintaining aseptic techniques, and ensuring smooth operating room turnover, supporting patient safety and efficient workflow.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift with 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, current basic life support (BLS) certification, and registration with the state regulatory agency if applicable. Must have manual dexterity, organizational skills, ability to respond quickly in emergent situations, and stay current with new developments in the field.
• Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from a certified school of surgical technology or two years of operating room experience; additional related education or experience is also preferred.
• Additional Information: Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. This position follows safety procedures regarding medication labeling, specimen handling, sharps, radiation, laser safety, infection control, and aseptic technique. Participates in emergency call rotation.
