Description
Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) located in an acute care setting. This position involves working in a high-acuity environment focused on cardiac surgery recovery and advanced procedures. The role requires managing patients with complex conditions such as IABP, CRRT, lung transplants, ECMO, and TAVR, among others, with a focus on maintaining safety and specialized care standards during night shifts.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS and BLS certifications; minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, with CVICU experience preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: CCRN certification preferred.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information:
- Unit has 24 beds with high patient acuity including cardiac surgery recovery, TAVR, and lung transplants.
- Nurse to patient ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:2, with a high number of 1:1 assignments.
- EMR system used is Cerner.
- Nurses will be expected to complete SIMs Lab skills for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, with specific exceptions for NICU and ED.
- Orientation includes 2 days on the floor.
- Care involves bedside procedures like bronchs, Swans, epidurals, and managing advanced cardiac devices.
- Hospital policy allows cancellation of up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.
- The role requires a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and a valid license to submit.
- Start date is 09/14/2026 and end date is 12/14/2026.
