Job Summary
Newborn Nursery Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Sylva, NC. This role entails providing specialized neonatal care in a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Level 2 Special Care Nursery. The position supports a fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and teamwork, with a focus on delivering high-quality care to neonates.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shift (7 P.M. to 7 A.M.), with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS), 1-2 years of experience in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) or special care nursery, and minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with newborns in delivery and catching babies in delivery, and familiarity with common neonatal diagnoses such as Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn (TTN), preterm birth, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS), and feeding issues.
• Additional Information: The position involves caring for a neonatal patient population in a facility with 4 to 6 beds, depending on acuity, with patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2. Equipment includes neonatal monitors and advanced neonatal care tools. The hiring process requires rounding out staffing needs due to a replacement of perm staff.
