Job Summary
Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician (ORT) Location unspecified. This role involves assisting in various surgical procedures within a busy OR environment, supporting a range of service lines including orthopedics, general surgery, robotics, organ transplants, ENT, vascular, thoracic, urology, and pediatrics. The position requires flexibility with shift rotations, on-call duties, and holiday coverage, contributing to a team-based surgical team focused on delivering urgent and scheduled cases.

Job Details

Certifications, Education, and Experience: BLS (must be American Heart Association certified), VA Registration required at submission, 2 years of experience with Level 1 or 2 trauma experience; travel experience (at least 1-2 assignments); neonate & pediatric experience and trauma experience preferred.
Schedule: Dayshift with 8- or 12-hour shifts, days very, rotating to nights, additional PRN shifts, with weekends required 2-3 per 6-week schedule period.
Additional Responsibilities: May include weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday), call shifts (3-4 weekday and weekend, 4 hours each), holiday coverage (at least 1 major and 1 minor).
Operational Details: Support of OR cases ranging from urgent to scheduled, with approximately 70-85 cases per day. The ORs operate 24/7, 365 days, with a focus on urgent and scheduled surgeries including total joints, organs, ENT, oral/maxillofacial, vascular/thoracic, urology, and pediatrics.
Float: Float as needed to ONLY IFMC ORs and Woodburn based on census needs.
On-call: 24-hour call shifts averaging 24 hours maximum, 2-3 shifts per week.
Start and End Dates: From 09/21/2026 to 01/09/2027.
