Job Summary
The Medical Surgical with Telemetry nurse is based in an acute care healthcare provider setting. This role involves evaluating patients, assisting physicians with patient care, and managing patient needs through planning, implementing, and documenting nursing interventions. The position supports a busy 52-bed medical-surgical unit, often caring for step-down patients, with assignments typically consisting of 1:4 or 1:5 patient ratios.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Required Qualifications: ASN degree; NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license; minimum of 2 years prior RN experience working in a medical-surgical with telemetry unit in a major acute care hospital setting; Certifications including NIHSS, Telemetry, BLS (AHA), and Contact Stroke 4 Hours.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Skills: Medical-surgical nursing, telemetry nursing, patient assessment, care planning, therapeutic nursing interventions, patient care management, clinical documentation, evidence-based practice advocacy, communication, teamwork, compassion.
• Additional Information: The role requires excellent communication skills, teamwork, and compassion. The environment is extremely busy, with an emphasis on patient-centric care and adherence to evidence-based practices. Soft skills in communication and teamwork are highly valued. The position requires floating, with potential for patient step-down care.
