Description
Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in Puyallup, WA. This position involves providing comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, including antepartum, fetal monitoring, and postpartum support. The role features a rotating weekend schedule within a Level III Trauma Center with extensive neonatal and obstetric services.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education, and Experience: BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), fetal monitoring (AWHONN or Relias module); strong labor and delivery experience including cervical exams, antepartum and labor care, amnio infusion, epidurals, fetal monitoring, IV administration, Pitocin; 1 year of experience preferred; WA licensure required.
- Schedule: Night and day shifts available, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license, current certifications (BLS, NRP), experience with fetal monitoring and labor/delivery procedures, and proficiency with EPIC Stork EMR, GE Centricity, Pyxis medication dispensing, and IV pumps (Alaris).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience attending high-risk deliveries, NICU attendings for babies 34 weeks or less, and proficiency with hospital technology and equipment.
- Additional Information: No CNA support on the unit; innovative support team includes surgery techs (M-F 6:00-15:00, phased out) and NICU teams as needed. Orientation includes annual core competencies, medication exams, and unit competency exams. The unit utilizes a secure HUGS Security system.
