Description

Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse Puyallup, WA. This position involves providing comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods in a Level III Trauma Center with a busy obstetrics department. The role requires expertise in antepartum, labor, and postpartum care, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the birthing process.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and fetal monitoring certifications; 1 year of experience in labor and delivery nursing; active license in the state of Washington; proficiency in fetal monitoring, cervical exams, epidurals, amnio infusion, IV management, Pitocin administration, and couplet care.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Strong experience with cervical exams, antepartum and labor care, amnio infusion, epidurals, fetal monitoring, IVs, Pitocin; comfort with postpartum care beyond the first 24 hours.
  • Additional Information: The role supports a variety of patient diagnoses including hypertension, substance abuse, and high-risk pregnancies. The unit operates with a no CNA staff model, with support from surgery techs and NICU attendance for earlier gestations. Orientation will include facility and unit training, with a focus on core competencies, medication administration, and unit-specific procedures.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
