Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse Level II Night Shift Location unspecified. This role involves caring for early gestation and newborn patients in a Level II NICU setting, requiring experience with neonatal ventilators, bubble continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), and neonatal resuscitation protocols. The ideal candidate will be comfortable attending deliveries and managing neonatal complex needs.

Job Details

  • Certifications: BLS Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Education Requirements: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse; Experience: Minimum of 2 years in neonatal intensive care nursing; Location Requirements: Must hold current licensure; Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week; Start Date: 09/14/2026; End Date: 12/14/2026
  • Responsibilities include providing specialized neonatal care, including managing ventilators, CPAP, new newborn admissions, and titrating drips such as fluids, TPN, and blood products.
  • Must be comfortable handling deliveries, including c-sections, and being a baby nurse at delivery.
  • Knowledge of newborn diagnoses, common procedures, and familiarity with telemetry and monitoring strips is required.
  • The unit has 11 beds, with up to 23 patients per nurse depending on acuity; neonatologist and neonatal nurse practitioner are in-house 24/7, supported by respiratory therapists and monitor techs.
  • Additional unit-specific requirements include rotating holiday and weekend shifts, with a potential for on-call duties if patient volume permits.
  • Floating to postpartum may be required if NICU is closed.
  • Candidates should be prepared for unit-specific orientation and competency assessments.
