Description

Job Summary
Operating Room Open Heart Surgical Technologist in the OR OH specialtythis position involves assisting during complex cardiac surgeries that utilize cardiopulmonary bypass and other advanced devices. The role requires proficiency in two surgical specialties and adheres to safety, aseptic, and universal precautions, supporting surgeons and operating room staff throughout the procedure.

Job Details

Certifications: Current basic life support certification; Certification as a surgical technologist; Registered with State Regulatory Agency if applicable
Education: High school diploma/GED
Experience: 0.0 years of experience in a surgical technologist role or three to four years of related experience required
Specialty: Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH)
Schedule: Day shift, 10 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
Responsibilities include preparing surgical instruments and supplies, troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment, anticipating the surgeons needs, maintaining aseptic technique, assisting with OR turnover, and participating in staff training and orientation.
Must be able to scrub proficiently on at least two surgical specialties and respond quickly in high-pressure situations.
May require travel between facilities and flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays.
