Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) nurse position in an acute care facility. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care for adult patients with a focus on medical-surgical conditions and telemetry monitoring. The position is scheduled for night shifts and requires adherence to clinical protocols, including managing complex patient needs and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
Job Details
- Certifications Required: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred.
- Education and Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Schedule: Night shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid California RN license, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certification preferred, and at least 1 year of clinical experience.
- Additional Responsibilities: Managing port access, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry interpretation, central line care, chest tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), dysrhythmia interpretation, and use of rapid response/code teams.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic charting system, community hospital setting, trauma level I or II experience, and prior travel experience are preferred.
- Unit Details: The team supports adults with diagnoses including falls, sepsis, urinary tract infections, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, and congestive heart failure exacerbation.
- Shift and Staffing: Approximately five patients per shift with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services.
- Documentation: Candidates must upload valid certifications and Nursys verification of license and references within the last year.
- Compliance: Labs to be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing; 7-year work history verification required; all documents due 10 days prior to start.
- Orientation: 36 hours of orientation modules, completed via e-learning.
