Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN in Colorado Springs. This position involves providing specialized 12-hour night care for pediatric patients in a 16-bed PICU, with an average daily census of 8-9 patients. The role requires adapting to flexible scheduling, including weekends and holiday coverage, within a fast-paced hospital environment.

Job Details

  • Position Description: RN PICU Traveler in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with a 16-bed capacity and an average patient census of 89.
  • Qualifications: BSN required; minimum of 2 years of PICU experience needed; previous travel experience preferred; active Colorado RN license or Compact RN license; BLS and PALS certifications required; TNCC and ACLS preferred.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM 7:00 AM), minimum 36 hours per week.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, covering NICU, Pediatric Medical-Surgical, and Emergency Department units, assisting with helping hands.
  • Additional Information: Must be available to work two of the three major holidays within the contract period, with no requested time off approved during the first two weeks. RTO blackout dates apply. Must work observed holidays if they fall within the contract period. No on-call requirement; can be canceled every 4 weeks.
  • Submission Requirements: Candidates must have a minimum of 2 completed travel assignments and at least 2 years of PICU experience. Orientation includes general hospital orientation, unit-specific orientation, and specialized pediatric training. Documentation in Peds Connect (EPIC) required.
