Job Summary
The Surgical Technician (OR Tech) specialty is based in Plano, TX. This role supports intra-operative patient care by assisting the surgical team with equipment, instrumentation, and sterile procedures to ensure a safe and efficient operating room environment. The position involves preparation, setup, and assistance during surgical procedures, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: BLS (AHA only), CST (grandfathered candidates accepted), with a minimum of 2 years of CVOR specific experience (Open Hearts, Vascular, Endovascular, Thoracic).
• Schedule: Variable shifts including 2x12s (0630-1700) and 2x8s (0630-1500), with at least 40 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Prepare operative sites and equipment, maintain sterilization standards, perform surgical counts, anticipate surgeon needs, assist with patient positioning, handle specimens, and disassemble instrumentation post-procedure.
• Additional Information: Knowledge of infection prevention, sterile and aseptic techniques, and human anatomy is required. Physical and chemical hazard exposure may occur. Must complete a nationally accredited surgical technologist program or comparable military training within 180 days of employment.
