Job Summary
Operating Room Nurse - Open Heart, Portland, Maine. This position involves providing specialized surgical nursing care within the operating room environment, focusing on open heart procedures. The role requires clinical expertise and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Job Details

• Shift: 7a-7p for days, 11a-11p for evenings, 7p-7a for nights
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Hours: 36 hours (1:4 weekends, 12-hour shifts)
• Call Requirements: One overnight call, 11p-7a for Trauma call, with schedule specific to specialty team rules (Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, Ortho)
• Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification, at least 2 years of operating room experience, minimum 2 years of relevant clinical practice, and valid credentials for specialty work in open heart surgery
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Level 1 trauma, General surgery, GU/GYN, Orthopedic trauma, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, Dental, or Endovascular procedures
• Float: Float rotation may be required
• Additional Information: The position supports general, trauma, and specialized cardiac surgeries, with a focus on teamwork, flexibility, accountability, and timeliness in patient care.
