Job Summary
Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician in ORT (Operating Room Technology) This position involves providing assistance and support to surgeons during procedures by preparing instruments and equipment in the Operating Room. The role requires working under supervision, facilitating a safe and efficient environment to maximize patient safety, and collaborating across departments within a 20-mile radius.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: HS Diploma or GED and completion of a Surgical Technician training program (verified at interview) or graduation from an accredited school; or Certified Surgical Technician (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT + ten years of experience. BLS certification required through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
• Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Skills & Experience: Current experience of 2 years in a large Operating Room, and current Cardiovascular experience. Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred Skills & Experience: Orthopedic, ENT, vascular, and transplant surgery experience are a plus.
• Additional Skills: Surgical equipment knowledge, surgical instrumentation knowledge, leadership, organizing, coordinating, teamwork, emergency knowledge, critical thinking, instrument counting, supply preparation, sterile field maintenance, patient skin preparation, patient positioning, patient monitoring, pre-operative care, scrub functions, specimen handling, anatomy and physiology knowledge, medication knowledge, flexibility, fast-paced environment adaptability, orthopedic surgery experience, ENT surgery experience, vascular surgery experience.
