Job Summary
Certified Operating Room Technician (ORT CERT) Location: Not specified. This position involves working in the operating room environment, assisting in preparing the sterile field, setting up surgical equipment, and passing instruments and supplies to surgeons. The role requires flexibility to float to sterile processing or inpatient floors as needed, supporting smooth surgical operations.

Job Details

  • Certifications: Certified Operating Room Technician (ORT CERT) must have successfully completed a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program or another programmatically-accredited surgical technology program and passed the National Certification Examination for Surgical Technologists (CST).
  • Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; all travel submissions must include at least 2 years of prior travel experience.
  • Location Requirements: No local candidates accepted; all applicants must have previous travel experience.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Prepare the operating room, manage the sterile field, assist with surgical procedures, and perform sponge and supply counts to prevent foreign objects from being retained. CSTs may be required to float to sterile processing or inpatient floors to serve as sitters if OR volume is low.
  • Submission Requirements: All applicants must have prior travel experience with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
