Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurselocated in an advanced regional hospital settingis responsible for delivering high-acuity emergency care to adult and pediatric patients. This role involves practicing independently within a similar clinical environment, providing routine and complex care, and developing long-range patient care plans to manage contingencies effectively.
Job Details
- Certifications and Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred; current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required; RN license in the state of Texas or a compact license.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, from 7 AM to 7 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities: Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation; administer medications and treatments with monitoring for side effects and effectiveness; document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided; assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers; address the increasing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of related nursing experience preferred; all newly hired experienced registered nurses must attend new nurse orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
- Additional Information: New hires are precepted by trained staff and must complete organizational entry and emergency department-specific competency validations, along with annual competency verification. Residency programs or other specific orientations may be available for newly licensed registered nurses.
