MS (Medical Surgical) Nurse in the neuro specialty is sought for a short-term assignment at a magnet and teaching healthcare facility. The role involves providing care for pre- and post-operative cranial and spinal surgery patients on a specialized neuroscience unit, with an emphasis on neurology and stroke patient management.

Job Details

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Education Requirements: No specific educational requirement listed
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with 4-6 patient ratio experience preferred; 0 years of experience required if not specified
• Location Requirements: Must be at least 75 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week

• Float: Float rotation may be required
• Additional Information:
  • The unit specializes in pre- and post-operative cranial and spinal surgery patients.
  • Staff do not handle drips requiring titration (except Heparin), trached/total laryngectomy care, EVDs, TPA administration, or arterial lines.
  • The role requires passing a Relias EKG exam and compliance deadlines apply.
  • Mandated certifications include ACLS, which must be obtained by the deadline.
  • Labs must be completed within 48-72 hours of signing.
  • Modules are billable and required pre-start.
  • No new RTO after submission; maximum of 7 days RTO permitted.
