Job Summary
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse Critical Care Level I Location: Not specified. This position involves providing high-acuity postoperative recovery care in a specialized trauma center. The role requires managing a diverse surgical patient population, including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, and transplant patients.

Job Details

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Education Requirements: 2 years of related experience required.
• Location Requirements: Must be at least 75 miles from the facilitys location.
• Years of Experience: 2 years minimum.
• Schedule: 10-hour days, minimum 40 hours per week.
• Additional Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic health record system, critical care experience, inpatient care, Level I Trauma Center experience, phase I PACU, dysrhythmia recognition and management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV starting, vasopressor administration, ICP monitoring, ventilated patient care.
• Responsibilities include recovery of postoperative patients, including those requiring artificial airways, invasive monitoring, transfusions, and vasoactive drugs.
• Special Procedures/Unit Details: High acuity PACU with 38 patient bays, open 24/7, recovery of complex surgical patients, no open-heart or liver transplant recoveries. Night shift nurses will pre-op patients for first cases.
• Open to accommodating block schedule but no float within scope other than PACU or Preoperative units.
• Pending license accepted; must have active license at time of submittal.
• RTO Restrictions: No more than 7 days.
• The unit handles adult, occasional adolescent, and geriatric populations, with a daily census of 70-90 patients.
• Night shift involves preoperative assessment of patients.
• No local candidates within 75 miles are accepted.
