Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse Location unspecified. This role involves providing specialized nursing care within a Perinatal Float Pool, rotating across multiple perinatal units, including Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and LDRP. The position requires cross-training, competency in both L&D and postpartum care, and adherence to the facilitys staffing needs.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 09/14/2026 through 12/14/2026.
- Certifications and Education Requirements: Valid CA state license, ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP, BSN, with 2 years of combined L&D and postpartum experience and demonstrated competency in both.
- Experience requirement: 0.0 years.
- Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk deliveries, initiating and managing postpartum care, neonatal resuscitation, labor support, vaginal deliveries, cesarean section circulation, and using fetal monitoring equipment.
- Additional clinical duties involve administering blood products, epidural anesthesia, managing complications such as hemorrhage and pre-eclampsia, and supporting breastfeeding and newborn care.
- Candidates must be willing to float among all three perinatal units and to affiliate hospitals based on census and unit needs.
- Relevant modules are completed during orientation and annually, with up to 8 hours of non-billable module work included in scheduled hours.
- Submittal requirements include active CA licensure, two manager references, and compliance with background and policy checks.
