Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Immediate opening in a healthcare facility. This role involves delivering high-quality nursing care, supervising licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants, and ensuring patient safety and well-being during scheduled shifts. The position requires ICU experience and a commitment to organizational safety values.

Job Details

• Certifications: BLS Certification required prior to first shift; ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
• Education and Experience Requirements: No minimum experience specified; ICU experience required.
• Specialty: Progressing Care Unit (PCU).
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities:
  • Performs nursing assessments within eight hours of patient admission and develops individualized care plans.
  • Provides timely patient status updates and documents assessments, interventions, and responses in the medical record.
  • Participates in patient rehabilitation programs and manages direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Initiates discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
  • Communicates changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
  • Delegates appropriately and supervises ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Ensures personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies.
  • Contributes to team building activities and maintains effective communication with management for supplies, equipment, and training needs.
  • Assumes charge responsibility following orientation as requested.
  • Pursues professional development through continuing education and self-study.
  • Prioritizes tasks to meet patient needs effectively.
  • Performs additional duties as requested.
