Job Summary
Medical Surgical Float Position in Fargo This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care across various medical-surgical units within a Level 2 trauma center. The role requires flexibility to float between departments and campuses, ensuring optimal patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: ND RN or Compact State License, BLS (AHA), NIHSS certification, minimum of 1 year recent Medical Surgical (MS) experience in a large hospital, minimum 200 beds, and ability to float within the MedSurg cluster and between campuses.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend and holiday, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities include head-to-toe assessments, medication administration by various routes, care plan documentation, wound, line, and drain care.
  • Equipment used includes Epic Electronic Medical Record, Accudose Rx, Alaris IV pumps, Philips vitals machines.
  • Previous float pool experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in a Level 2 or higher trauma center and high-volume hospital setting required.
  • Training includes one full shift on each of the Broadway and SMCF med-surg units, along with campus tours and team expectations overview.
  • The applicant must be willing to float within MedSurg units on Broadway, SMCF, and South University campuses, covering specialties such as oncology, trauma, cardiac, neuro, observation, and behavioral health.
  • Must have a current license ready for submission and be willing to wait for licensure if in process.
