Job Details

• Position Description:
  The role entails assisting with a variety of surgical cases, predominantly orthopedic, neuro, and gynecological procedures. The technician will support the surgical team by preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and providing sterile patient care. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1, and the role includes working closely with anesthesia and other perioperative staff.

• Required Qualifications:
  Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), at least 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, and the ability to work scheduled nights. Education requirements include a relevant associate degree or certification in surgical technology. The candidate must have at least 2 years of OR experience, and be licensed for the role.

• Schedule:
  Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting between 6am-9am with on-call responsibilities, including one shift per week and every fourth weekend.

• Additional Information:
  Orientation consists of one week of paperwork and one week paired with a preceptor. Experience with Cerner Surginet is preferred. The facility handles approximately 15-25 cases daily, with a mix of inpatient and outpatient procedures. Critical patients are directly transferred to ICU post-surgery.
