Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) RN Location: unspecified. This position involves providing critical care to trauma, neuro-stroke, head injury, ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, and post-TPA patients within a fast-paced ICU setting. The role requires specialized skills, including ICP monitoring and ventilator management, with a focus on patient safety and acute care standards.

Job Details

  • Location: unspecified
  • Schedule: 12-hour days, every other weekend, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: ACLS, BLS certifications, COVID vaccine, and an active nursing license; minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, with previous neuro and trauma experience preferred.
  • Responsibilities include managing ICU patients with complex conditions such as neuro-strokes, head injuries, ventriculostomies, and ICP monitoring. Candidates must have experience with vent management and titrating drips including vasopressors and sedation.
  • Additional job notes: Must pass a proctored dysrhythmia test on day one. Experience with hospital ICU telemetry, and ability to interpret telemonitor strips are required.
  • Shift expectations include working 12-hour days with first-to-float policies, and unit-specific orientation provided: one day onsite, with additional training as needed.
  • Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment, collaborate well with healthcare team members, and adapt to a fast-paced unit.
  • There are no specified supervisor or manager interactions in this role, but a hospitalist or intensivist is in-house 24/7, and continuous RT support is available in the ICU.
