Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse MS Specialty Location not specified. This position involves providing care to patients on a designated Stroke Unit with a focus on improving patients' quality of life and their ability to perform activities of daily living. The role requires teamwork and effective communication within a fast-paced neurovascular setting.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test, 1 year of experience required, valid license/ Nursys License, Driver's License/State ID, Ascension Profile, and 2 Professional References.
- Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The unit capacity is 30 beds, primarily serving stroke patients with some general medical-surgical patients. The patient population ranges from young adult to late adult (18-60+). Nurse to Patient Ratio is 1:6. Staffing includes Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and Nurse Interns (NIs). RNs assume full responsibility for their patients. Float rotation may be required; floating to different units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity. Travelers will be notified in advance of any float assignments.
