Job Summary
The organization is seeking an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse for a night shift position in an acute care setting. This role involves providing specialized care to trauma, neuro-stroke, and post-TPA patients, with experience in ICP monitoring and ventrics required. The ICU unit has 30 beds, operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2, and provides a fast-paced environment demanding clinical expertise and teamwork.
Job Details
- Position: Intensive Care Unit RN ICU Specialty
- Location: The healthcare providers ICU in the designated facility
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week minimum, with availability for every other weekend and holiday coverage.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit, ACLS and BLS certifications, COVID vaccination, minimum 2 years of ICU experience, experience with ICP monitoring and ventrics, and prior trauma care background.
- Preferred Qualifications: PALS certification, experience with neuro-strokes, head injuries, ventriculostomies, and TPA patients.
- Additional Information: Candidates must have 2-3 years in the ICU specialty with prior travel experience preferred. The role requires the ability to interpret tele monitor strips (GE monitors), titrate drips such as vasopressors and sedatives, and work efficiently in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. Mandatory on-boarding includes a one-day unit orientation, and an onsite dysrhythmia test will be conducted with a pass/fail outcome.
