Job Summary
ICU Nurse Intensive Care Unit Night Shift Location Unknown. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in an ICU setting, managing 8 beds with primarily primary care nursing. The position requires experienced registered nurses to handle critical patient conditions, including sepsis, stroke, DKA, PNA, and alcohol withdrawal, with responsibilities spanning code response, medication titration, and patient monitoring.

Job Details

• Position Description: ICU RNs will care for patients with common diagnoses such as sepsis, stroke, DKA, PNA, and alcohol withdrawal in an 8-bed ICU environment. The unit manages post-catheterization recovery at radial and femoral sites, with no cardiovascular surgery, CRRT, or abdominal surgeries. ICU nurses are expected to run codes, with telemonitoring support available, and work primarily with primary care nursing.
• Required Qualifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications, ICU experience of at least 2 years, and a valid IL license.
• Schedule: Nights 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM7:30 AM or 7:00 PM7:30 AM), minimum of 36 hours per week, including every other weekend and holiday rotation.
• Additional Information: ICU nurses may be required to titrate drips such as Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, and TNK, and to perform medication mixing. The unit features Meditech charting, GECarescape, Airstrip technology, and in-house hospitalist coverage 24/7. Floating to MedSurg, Telemetry, and ER units may be required, with 2 shifts of department-specific orientation provided.
