Job Summary
The organization is seeking an ICU (Intensive Care Unit) registered nurse for a night shift position at a healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to critically ill patients, including managing complex conditions such as sepsis, stroke, DKA, and PNA, with expectations to run codes and titrate various drips. The position supports night shift coverage, including every other weekend and holiday rotation, with a focus on primary care nursing.

Job Details

• Position: ICU Registered Nurse
• Location: Healthcare facility (generic)
• Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) required
• Education & Experience: Valid IL license; minimum 2+ years ICU experience required
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), minimum of 36 hours per week
• Responsibilities: Manage complex medical conditions such as sepsis, stroke, DKA, PNA; run codes; titrate medications including Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, TNK; support in post-catheterization recovery; collaborate with hospitalists and ICU team members; monitor and interpret telemetry strips; utilize electronic charting system (EPIC)
• Additional Information: ICU beds are 8 with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3; occasional support from care support staff or CNA; telemedicine attachment; require Meditech experience a plus; float to MedSurg, Tele, or ER as needed; orientation includes two 12-hour shifts; Scrubs of any color are acceptable; staffing is census-based with coverage for unanticipated needs.
