Job Summary
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Nurse Location: Not Specified. This position involves providing competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, with a focus on patients with complex medical and surgical needs. The role requires coordination with the interdisciplinary team to deliver individualized patient care utilizing the nursing process.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Days Shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of Nursing; current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC); 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Additional Requirements: None specified.
  • Demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.
  • Performs bedside point of care testing as required and utilizes healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in care delivery.
  • Collaborates with patients and families to develop and update plans of care, considering cultural and ethnic issues.
  • Participates in development and achievement of unit goals, performance improvement activities, and promotes safe hospital environment.
  • Recognizes data from complex situations to determine care priorities.
  • Uses a full range of communication skills to convey care plans and coordinate with multidisciplinary resources.
  • Maintains knowledge of regulatory and public policy guidelines affecting healthcare.
  • Brings ideas and questions to the staff for continuous improvement and research application.
