Description

Job Summary
Telemetry (TELE) Nursing Night Shift located in an acute care facility. This role involves providing specialized cardiac telemetry care on a 12-hour night shift, supporting patients with medical cardiac conditions, including congestive heart failure, using virtual telemetry monitoring systems. The position is suitable for nursing professionals with experience or skills in cardiac care and involves responsible management of drips and continuous patient monitoring.

Job Details

  • Certifications and Education: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience or skills in medical cardiac care.
  • Location Requirements: Not specified.
  • Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities: Managing patients with common diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, using telemetry monitors, troubleshooting respiratory equipment like High Flow oxygen and BiPAP, and titrating drips including Amiodarone, Heparin, Insulin, and Cardizem.
  • Orientation and Dress Code: Unit-specific orientation lasts for 3 shifts; navy blue scrubs are worn by staff.
  • Additional Information: Nurses are required to float as needed, with a chance for hospital-initiated shift cancellations up to 4 shifts per assignment or 3 shifts for shorter durations. The charting system used is EPIC. No on-unit telemetry technicians are present; RNs are responsible for reading ECG strips.
