Certified First Surgical Assistant in Kailua. This position involves providing assistance to the primary surgeon during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and procedure efficiency in a surgical setting. The role requires working closely with the operating room team to deliver quality care and support clinical functions.

Job Details

• Position Description: Provides assistance to the primary surgeon during surgical procedures, including exposure, hemostasis, tying or sewing, and other functions as dictated by the surgeon. Maintains responsibility for clinical tasks of limited complexity.
• Required Qualifications: High School Education/GED or equivalent, Associates/Technical Degree or equivalent related experience, Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor, and 2 years of experience.
• Schedule: Rotating shift, 8 hours per shift, 40 hours minimum per week.
• Additional Information: Prepares and positions patients, assists in visualization and provides hemostasis, harvests surgical grafts, performs incision closures, and applies wound dressings. Prepares the operating room environment, verifies equipment and supplies, and reviews patient documentation. Coordinates and participates in draping and verifies operative consent. Performs surgical hand scrub, gowning, and gloving, and handles other routine postoperative and preoperative activities.
