Job Summary
Step Down Unit Nurse Nights Location: Unknown. This role involves providing specialized nursing care within a fast-paced step down unit for adult and geriatric patients. The position requires a focus on cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetic patient populations, ensuring high-quality care in a critical environment.

Job Details

Position Description: Unit notes specify this is a step down unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4-5. The scope includes caring for adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as cardiac conditions, nephrology issues, strokes, and diabetes, along with continuous EEG monitoring.
Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale).
Education and Experience: Required certifications, relevant experience, and other qualifications are necessary. Normal minimum experience is 2 years.
Schedule: Night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Responsibilities: Administering titratable drips including Cardizem, beta blockers, seizure medications. Charge nurses manage assignments; nurse aides/patient care techs support patient care.
Float: Float rotation may be required.
Submission Requirements: Valid drivers license, and licensure to submit.
Clinical Environment: Includes unit onboarding, skills assessment exams (pass with 90%), and orientation. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring positive attitude, good communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
