Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an ICU (Intensive Care Unit) registered nurse for a night shift position. This role involves caring for adult patients with diverse conditions including trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent recovery, stroke, and other vascular or respiratory cases. The role requires the ability to titrate cardiac and other critical drips and to interpret and document monitor strips as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications, minimum of 2 years ICU experience, location requirements, and ability to work night shifts
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilators (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.), prior ICU experience in similar patient populations
- Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU; manage titratable cardiac drips, insulin, sedation, and troubleshoot ventilator equipment; interpret cardiorespiratory monitors; collaborate with healthcare support staff and nurse aides as needed; complete required documentation in EPIC system.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, with self-scheduling options for core staff. Weekends are every other, with a minimum of two holidays falling within the contract. One shift of ICU orientation is provided, and RNs must give upfront RTO requests of 7 days or less per 13-week contract.
