Job Summary
The healthcare organization is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in an Intensive Care Unit located in Rome, GA. This role involves providing critical patient care across various high-acuity units, including neuro, cardiac, and surgical specialties, within a Level 2 Trauma designated teaching hospital. The position requires clinical expertise in managing complex patients with a focus on teamwork and swift response to patient needs.
Job Details
- Position: ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Location: Rome, GA
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications; required experience in ICU or critical care; healthcare provider experience preferred; must be able to work nights; minimum 2 years of clinical experience is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: CCRN and TNCC certifications are preferred but not required.
- Clinical Responsibilities: Provide advanced patient monitoring and interventions for critically ill patients, including stroke, trauma, sepsis, cardiac events, and post-surgical care. Support technologies such as cardiac monitors, glucometers, ventilators, and IV pumps. Adhere to safety protocols including bed and chair alarms.
- Support within Department: Includes CNA/Nurse techs, respiratory therapists, phlebotomists, educators, staffing specialists, safety sitters, Virtual RN, Virtual Patient Observers, and security.
- Technology/Equipment: Electronic Medical Records (EPIC), specialty beds, alarms, ventilators, BiPap, Virtual RN, Virtual Patient Observer.
- Floating: Floating to all med-surg and critical care units, including ED border areas and ICU or ER as needed.
- Orientation: First week includes hospital orientation, followed by unit-specific orientation on the floor.
- Scheduling: Weekend rotation every other week; occasional on-call and holiday shifts (70% of holidays); flexibility for up to 7 days of RTO if extending contract.
- Other Notes: Scrub color: Navy; parking is free; team-oriented department culture emphasizing communication, assistance, and quick response to call lights and alarms.
