Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse Bangor, ME. This position involves providing specialized critical care to medical, surgical, trauma, neuro, and orthopedic patients within a Level II Trauma Center. The role emphasizes managing complex patients with conditions such as ICP monitoring, external ventricular drains, spinal precautions, and multi-system trauma, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Position: ICU Nurse
- Location: Bangor, ME
- Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (preferred), 2 years minimum in ICU, experience with neuro and trauma patients, EVD ICP monitoring, ventilator management, critical care drips, drain management, stroke care, hemodynamic lines (A-lines/CVP), cardiac rhythm recognition, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, strong assessment skills
- Additional Information: Support staff include a charge nurse, resource nurse/house supervisor, RT, hospitalist, and intensivist available 24/7. Orientation includes general hospital and unit-specific training. The traveler may float to the Cardiac Care Unit if experienced. Floating to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is possible if PALS certified and experienced. This role involves working with Cerner charting system; support on the unit may include patients within scope of cardiac stepdown or medical stepdown, and possibly PICU if experience permits.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Other Notes: Scrub color is flexible but must be professional. Free parking is available. Holiday shifts are variable and require approval for time off.
