Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in the specialty of Operating Room, located in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves providing specialized surgical nursing care across multiple service lines, excluding cardiovascular procedures, with a focus on trauma and general surgery cases.

Job Details

• Certifications and Education Requirements: BLS certification required. CNOR and CST certifications preferred. Active Illinois license in hand or in application process.
• Experience Requirements: A minimum of 3 years' experience in the Operating Room with general and trauma surgery experience. Level I trauma experience required.
• Schedule: Days shift, 8-hour shifts, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Additional Qualifications: Experience with laparoscopic-assisted cases, general surgery procedures (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, Whipple), neurology cases (cervical fusion, craniotomy, discectomy, lumbar fusion), orthopedic procedures (arthroscopy, fracture reduction), plastic surgery (free flap microvascular), transplant (organ donation), urology (cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy), trauma (amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, MVAs), and emergency management skills (code response, fire safety, latex allergy, malignant hyperthermia).
• Open to float: Within skill setrarely occurs.
• Special Requirements: Will work with all service lines except cardiovascular. Level I trauma experience and specific case skillsets are essential.
• Travel Experience: Candidate must have recent travel experience.

• End Date: 12/21/2026
• Additional Notes: Must have active Illinois license or be in the application process. All requested time off must be reviewed and approved. Candidate must work 2 of the 3 major holidays.
