Job Summary
IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit) Nurse in a facility providing post-operative cardiac surgery care. This position involves caring for patients who have recently undergone complex cardiac procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafts and valve repairs, as they transfer from intensive care. The role prepares patients for discharge to home or rehabilitation facilities as early as postoperative day four, while also managing thoracic surgery and cardiology patients.

Job Details

• Shift Time: Rotating shifts, 12 hours each, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Qualifications: Requires 2 years of experience, valid MA license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications from the AHA (American Heart Association), and EPIC electronic health record experience.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours/week.
• Responsibilities include providing comprehensive patient care, monitoring post-op cardiac patients, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
• The unit maintains nurse-to-patient ratios of approximately 3:1 to 4:1 during the day and 4:1 to 5:1 overnight, with support staff including PCTs and unit clerks working across shifts.
• Candidate must be separated from the facility's organization for at least 6 months and be non-local to be considered.
• Parking options are available with costs up to $43/day; public transportation is accessible.
