Job Summary
Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse in a 24-bed high acuity Neuro ICU with a focus on neurosurgical, neurology, and neurovascular patient care. This position involves providing advanced neurological and critical care to adult patients, utilizing specialized skills in neuro assessment and management.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: CA Registered Nurse License, Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), at least 2 years of ICU experience, and current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Neuro ICU, Trauma ICU, and community hospital settings; knowledge of charting system Epic; experience with interdisciplinary support teams.
- Additional Information: Candidates should have access to managing ports, arterial lines, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, neuro-specific procedures (e.g., ICP monitoring, external ventricular drain management), and emergency medications. Proficiency in interpreting arterial blood gases, cardiac dysrhythmias, and managing multisystem organ dysfunction is essential. Float rotation may be required during the assignment.
