Description

Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in the L&D department at a healthcare facility located on the Central California Coast. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency interventions and circulating for C-Sections. The role requires supervising ancillary staff and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
  • Education and Work Experience: Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent (Required), Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred), two years experience of Labor & Delivery (Required), current RN license in state of practice (Required), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (Required), Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course (Required)
  • Essential Functions: Performs physical and psychosocial assessment of patients with attention to age and cultural differences. Develops multidisciplinary care plans and manages perinatal emergencies including crash C-section and precipitous delivery. Assesses fetal and maternal well-being, manages pain, and educates patients and families throughout all stages of labor and postpartum. Ensures accurate documentation and safety checks are performed consistently.
  • Additional Information: Must have EPIC experience. The position is represented by CNA. All associates are required to receive vaccinations as a condition of employment, with exemptions available for medical or religious reasons.
